Bryan Jones of St. Thomas in Long Beach is now the priest in charge at St. Luke's in La Cresenta. We wish Bryan many blessings and grace as he begins the work of gathering the faithful to begin a new the work of Christ in that community.

We also welcome Michael Cooper who will be serving at St. Thomas. We look forward to serving with Michael in this deanery and in the diocese. Welcome Michael.

We also offer thanksgiving for the life and ministry of Joe Miller. I have many memories of Joe and the various ways he served in the diocese. Joe died recently after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's Disease.

THE GREAT EIGHT CLERICUS

Dear Friends:

We will gather for the last time before summer at the Blue Water Grill in Redondo Beach (noon) this coming June 18th (Thursday). Please reply to this email by hitting REPLY to let me know if you will or will not be attending. Thank you.

At our last luncheon in May, I announced that our future clericus gatherings, based upon input from you all, will return to the practice of meeting in various churches throughout the deanery with each of us bringing a brown bag lunch.

Listed below are the dates for our gatherings in the Fall. We will stick with our current pattern of meeting on the third Thursdays of each month unless there is a conflict with diocesan activities. Please reply to this email by hitting REPLY ALL with the dates you would be willing to host the clericus luncheon. Usually the hosting church provides coffee and water, but we could amend this if you would like. If we can get someone to sponsor all of the dates below, I will publish a schedule at our June gathering and post it on the CLERICUS 8 Blog.

It has been a great year of getting together. Please support next year's format so we can continue to build on our friendships during the coming year.

God's Peace in the Evening,
Bob

Future Clericus Luncheons

Dear Friends:

Thank you for your responses to the email announcing our upcoming Clericus Luncheon on February 26th (noon at The Blue Water Grill in Redondo Beach). If you have not yet responded, let me know if you will be able to attend or not.

Here are the dates for future Clericus Luncheons for this academic year. Please note that I would like to have us go to different parts of the Deanery for these luncheons. So, if you know of restaurants in your area that might be a good place to gather, please let me know. If the Blue Water is acceptable to the group, we can continue to meet there, but I just don't want to have this become a reason for folks not being able to attend due to distance or other circumstances.

I am posting this information on our Clericus Blog site at http://clericus8.blogspot.com/. We can also use this site to let one another know of special activities and news in our various churches. This might help Elizabeth have such information for her Diocesan Council report and allow us to keep up with one another between our gatherings. If you would like, I can set up a Clericus 8 Face Book site as well. Let me know.

So, here are the dates for our future luncheons:

February 26th Noon Blue Water Grill Redondo Beach

March 26th Noon TBD TBD

April 23rd Noon TBD TBD

May 28th Noon TBD TBD

June 18th Noon TBD TBD

Clericus Luncheon: February 26th at Noon

Dear Friends:

It has been a busy season in many of our churches and I am hoping that we can come together for lunch together on February 26th at Noon. We will gather this time at the Blue Water Grill, but I would like for us to select another location that is closer to the south eastern area of the deanery as our alternating site for future lunches. If you have names of restaurants that we can easily access, please let me know so we can consider these spots for our next gathering.

The Blue Water Grill is located in Redondo's King Harbor. You can find information about the restaurant and its location at this site:
http://www.bluewatergrill.com/locations/redondo_beach.htm. Please contact me by return email to let me know if you are able to attend or not. I look forward to seeing all of you who can attend.

God's Peace in the Gathering,
Bob
