We are pleased to announce that the Pre Convention Deanery Assembly meeting has been set for Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 7:00 PM. For this evening meeting, we have been offered the use of St. Cross Church in Hermosa Beach. The address is: 1818 Monterey Bl. Hermosa Beach. The telephone at St. Cross is 310- 376-8989.
This is a very significant meeting for the Clergy, Delegates, and members of Deanery 8. We have very important elections to vote upon. They are listed in the attached copy of the meeting Agenda.
Please give some consideration to a slate of individuals to be considered for these positions. The President, Treasurer, and Secretary are offering to remain in office if re-elected. We need all other positions to be filled by both Clergy and Lay.
There will be a discussion of Deanery finances, presentation and voting on submitted requests for funding. Please submit any requests to us in writing prior to the Assembly meeting.
There will also be a presentation by Diocesan leaders of the proposed budget that will be submitted at Convention in December. Scheduled to be in attendance for the Diocese are Diocesan Bishop J. Jon Bruno, and Mr. Larry Sawyer.
Please do not forget this important pre-convention meeting, as we delegates will be voting for two new Suffragan Bishops in December.
Thanks to all,

led by The Very Rev. Canon Mark Kowalewski

Please join us at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Palos Verdes Estates, for an evening conversation about decisions made at the 2009 General Convention in Anaheim, their implications for the wider ministry and mission of the Episcopal Church and our relationships with other churches around the Anglican Communion. Come with your thoughts, comments and questions! The Very Reverend Canon Mark Kowalewski, Dean of St. John’s Pro-Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles will share his perspective as a member of the Los Angeles deputation and will lead a conversation about where we’re headed as a denomination. Childcare is available upon request to the St. Francis Church Office: 310-375-4617 or secretary@stfrancispv.org.
